Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how TQ Tech ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Frame Capture – Video to Photo Android app (package name tq.tech.framecapture, the "App") and the website framecaptureapp.com (the "Website"). TQ Tech is the developer of the App and the controller (or "data fiduciary") of the limited personal data described here.

Your videos and frames stay on your device
Frame Capture is built so that your media never leaves your phone through us:
- You choose videos with the Android system photo picker. The App only receives access to the specific video you pick.
- Frames are decoded and saved entirely on your device using Android's built-in media tools.
- Saved frames are written to your device's shared Pictures storage (by default
Pictures/FrameCapture) so they appear in your gallery. - We do not collect, upload, store on servers, view, or share your videos, the frames you extract, or their file names. Our analytics are designed not to log file names or image content.
When you use the Share feature, the image is passed to the app you choose (for example a messaging app), and that app's own privacy policy applies.
Information we collect
Information stored only on your device
Your preferences (default export format and quality, resolution, theme, dynamic colour, haptic feedback, keep-screen-awake, save folder and file-name prefix, onboarding status, a small count used to time the rating prompt, and a cached Premium status) are stored locally on your device. We cannot access them. If Android backup is enabled on your device, these settings may be included in your Google account backup under Google's terms, and are restored if you reinstall.
Information collected automatically by third-party services
The App uses the third-party services listed in the next section. Through them, the following may be collected automatically:
- App activity: screens viewed and in-app actions, such as opening a video, stepping frames, saving or sharing a frame (including the chosen format, resolution and quality), deleting frames, changing settings, viewing the Premium screen, purchase outcomes, ad events and rating prompts. Video-related events use coarse values only (for example a duration range and orientation), never the video itself.
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, country, and app-instance identifiers.
- Device or other identifiers: the Android Advertising ID (where available and permitted), Firebase app-instance ID and RevenueCat anonymous app user ID.
- Diagnostics: crash logs and error reports, including the screen and editor mode in use when an error occurred.
- Network information: your IP address is necessarily processed by these services when the App connects to them; it may be used to estimate approximate location (for example, country) for ads and analytics.
- Purchase information: if you buy Premium, the purchase token, product, price, currency and store country.
Information you send us
If you contact us by email (for example through Contact support or the feedback option after a low rating), the App pre-fills an email with the app version, package name, Android version, device model and language to help us troubleshoot. You can review or remove this before sending. We receive your email address and anything you choose to include.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, precise location, camera or microphone input, or any login credentials. The App does not request camera, microphone, location or contacts permissions.
Third-party services
These services process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | Understand how the App is used so we can improve it | App activity, device info, app-instance ID, Advertising ID, IP-derived country | Firebase privacy |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Find and fix crashes | Crash logs, device and OS info, installation UUID | Firebase privacy |
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Show ads in the free version (app-open, interstitial, native and rewarded ads) | Advertising ID, IP address, device info, ad interactions | How Google uses data from partner apps |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Ask for and store your ad-consent choices where required | Consent status, device info | Google Privacy Policy |
| RevenueCat | Process and verify the Premium purchase and restore it | Anonymous app user ID, purchase receipts, device info, country/currency | RevenueCat privacy |
| Google Play Billing, In-App Review and In-App Updates | Payments, rating prompts and update prompts | Handled by Google Play under your Google account | Google Privacy Policy |
Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.
Advertising and your choices
The free version of Frame Capture shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads may be personalised based on your Advertising ID and activity across apps, where permitted.
- Consent: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another region where consent is required, the App shows Google's consent form before requesting ads. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown when applicable).
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Remove ads: Frame Capture Premium removes all ads.
How we use information
- To provide the App's features and remember your settings.
- To show ads and measure their performance in the free version.
- To process, verify and restore Premium purchases.
- To understand usage, diagnose crashes and improve the App.
- To respond to your support requests and feedback.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the App and Premium), legitimate interests (analytics, crash reporting, security and support), and consent (personalised advertising where required).
Device permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Photo picker (no permission required) | To open the video you choose. |
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+) | Requested only when you open Saved Frames, to show, share and delete frames the App saved. |
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) | Same purpose as above on older Android versions. |
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below) | To save frames to your gallery on older Android versions. |
INTERNET | To load ads, send analytics and crash reports, and process purchases. |
AD_ID | Lets the Google Mobile Ads SDK read the Advertising ID. |
You can revoke storage or media permissions at any time in Android settings. The App will keep working, but the Saved Frames library may not be able to show your frames.
Data retention
- Videos and frames: we never hold them. Frames stay on your device until you delete them.
- Local settings: kept until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
- Firebase Analytics: user-level data is retained for the period configured in our Firebase project (Google's default is 2 months, maximum 14 months), then deleted.
- Crashlytics crash reports: retained by Google for up to 90 days.
- Purchase records: kept by Google Play and RevenueCat as long as needed to provide Premium and meet legal and tax obligations.
- Support emails: kept as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Security
The third-party services we use transmit data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Your videos and frames are not transmitted at all. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we choose reputable providers and collect as little as possible.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority.
- India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): you may request information about, correction or erasure of your personal data, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance with us (see Grievance contact below) before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR): you have the rights listed above, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California and other US states: you may request to know, delete or correct personal information and opt out of targeted advertising or "sharing". You can opt out by enabling the opt-out of personalised ads in your device settings, or by purchasing Premium. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Because we do not run user accounts, most data is tied only to random device identifiers. To make a request, email tqtechofficial@gmail.com. We may ask for information (such as your purchase order ID) to locate data related to you. We aim to respond within 30 days.
How to delete your data
- Frames: delete them in the App's Saved Frames screen (long-press to select several) or in your gallery.
- Settings and local data: clear the App's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the App.
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it in your device's ad settings.
- Analytics and other data held by our providers: email tqtechofficial@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request". We will delete what we can identify and ask our providers to do the same where they support it.
More details are on our Support page.
Children's privacy
Frame Capture is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country; under the Indian DPDP Act, a child is anyone under 18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at tqtechofficial@gmail.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers (Google and RevenueCat) may process data in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws from your own. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
This website
framecaptureapp.com is a static website. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies and has no forms. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Links to Google Play take you to Google's website, where Google's privacy policy applies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be highlighted in the App or on the Google Play listing.
